Case Study: Siobhan Davies Dance: Conversations

This was a unique example of a brief from a client that allowed us to dabble in a bit of interactive information design. Siobhan Davies sat down and spoke with a group of diverse artists and professional creatives and these conversations were recorded, then transcribed.

Bullet devised a solution to make this series of conversations interesting to view and interactive, whilst retaining true to the text and allowing for plenty of space to clearly read the transcripts. The implementation of the ‘word-cloud’ allows readers to identify key words within the texts and make cross references between them.

Whilst the transcriptions are a fascinating read, it was decided early on to incorporate audio, images, and video in to the site. But the main information navigation feature that we designed and built was a tagging system that allowed the project editor to assign parts of the script with meta tags, thus building up keyword lists in the form of ‘word-clouds’ that you can see displayed on the right side on the transcripts.

Following on from these conversations, a series of live events at the end of 2009 with conversations between various people were recorded and will be added to the site shortly.
